  1. Open Fishing App on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/fishing-app-points-forecast/id6811529393
  2. Install it on your iPhone. The app needs iOS 18 or later.
  3. Open the app. It starts on the Map β€” you can use it straight away.

No registration

You do not need to sign up. The app creates an account for you automatically, so it can save and synchronise your records. It does not ask for a name, an email address or a password. More: Your account

The first minute

  1. The app asks to use your location. Choose Allow While Using App to see your position on the map and to get the forecast for where you are. You can say no and still use the app.
  2. Tap + in the bottom right corner of the map and choose Add spot or Add catch. Save a fishing spot Β· Log a catch
  3. Open the Forecast tab to see the best fishing windows for today and the next six days. Read the forecast

Permissions the app may ask for

Each one is asked only at the moment it is needed, and you can say no:

  • Location (while you use the app) β€” asked the first time the map opens. It shows your position, sets the place of a new spot or catch, and picks the forecast for where you are. The app does not use your location in the background.
  • Camera β€” asked when you choose Take photo while logging a catch.
  • Add to Photos β€” asked after you take a photo in the app, to save a copy to your photo library. If you say no, the photo is still attached to the catch.

Choosing existing photos from your library needs no permission: the app receives only the photos you pick.

Today the app does not send push notifications and does not ask for permission to track you across other apps and websites. If that changes, the app will ask for your permission first, and you can say no.

You can change these any time in the iOS Settings app, on the app's page.

Who can use the app

You must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law of your country requires it (up to 16 in some EU countries).
