## Open a catch

Any of these opens a catch:

- tap its fish pin on the **Map**;
- **Profile → Catches**, then tap the catch;
- open a saved spot and tap a catch under **Your catches**.

The catch opens as a sheet over the map, at its place. Drag the sheet up to see everything.

## What a catch shows

- the species, and when it was caught — for example "Today · 10:20 PM · Oct 12, 2026";
- the photos — tap to view them full screen. "No photo" when there are none;
- the length and the weight. A dash (—) means the value was not entered;
- **Your note**, if you wrote one;
- **Location** — the saved spot, the name of the water or place, or the coordinates. Tap a saved spot to open it; tap a named water to read about it;
- **Catch conditions** — see below.

Whether the fish was released is shown in **⋯** → **Edit**.

## Catch conditions

The app works out what the conditions were at the place and time of the catch:

- a **score** for those conditions, with a word — **Great**, **Average** or **Poor**. It is the same kind of score as in the forecast: [The bite score and the best fishing windows](https://help.blacklabr.com/hc/blacklabr/articles/bite-score)
- **Tide** — the height, and whether it was rising or falling;
- **Wind** — the speed;
- **Pressure** — the air pressure, and whether it was rising, steady or falling;
- **Moon** — the phase.

## When the conditions are not there

| The app says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Loading score... / Conditions will fill in shortly | The conditions are being worked out. This needs a connection and usually takes moments once the phone is online. |
| Not available | That reading does not exist for the place — for example the tide on fresh water. |
| Not recorded | That reading could not be obtained for the time of the catch. |
| Weather isn't available this far back | The catch is too old for the weather records. |
| Conditions aren't available for this place and time | Nothing could be worked out for this catch. |
| Updated … after you changed the location / the time | You edited the place or time, and the conditions were worked out again. |
