Fishing App is built for places with no coverage. Your records are saved on your phone first and synchronised when a connection is available.

## What works offline

- logging a catch — the species list, your position (GPS needs no network) and photos;
- saving, editing and deleting spots and catches;
- opening your catches and spots, with their photos;
- the **Profile** lists, with sorting and search;
- the forecast for places you opened while you were online — it is kept for up to seven days;
- the units and the other settings.

## What needs a connection

- the background map. Your pins and your position are still drawn. There is no way to download maps in advance;
- searching for places, and the names of waters and places;
- fresh weather and official weather warnings;
- the conditions of a new catch (tide, wind, pressure, moon) — they are filled in once the phone is online;
- **Delete My Data**;
- the links to the Terms, the Privacy Policy and the App Store.

## How you can tell

- On the map: "Map details need a connection. Your saved spots and GPS still work."
- Under the forecast: "Offline - live updates paused · weather from 3:24 PM".
- On a new catch: "Conditions will fill in shortly".

## Synchronising

- The app synchronises by itself while it is open and the phone is online. There is no "sync" button and nothing to tap.
- It does not synchronise while it is closed. After a trip without coverage, open the app once you are online.
- The app has no sign that says "synchronised". A new catch whose conditions have filled in has reached our servers.

## Before you go somewhere without coverage

While you are still online, open the **Forecast** for the place you are going to. It is then available offline for up to seven days. The background map cannot be saved in advance.

## Important

The photos of your catches, and anything not yet synchronised, exist only on your phone. Deleting the app removes them: [Reinstalling the app or changing phones](https://help.blacklabr.com/hc/blacklabr/articles/reinstall-or-new-phone)
