The forecast is always for one place, named at the top of the **Forecast** tab. This guide shows you how to change it.

## From the Forecast tab

1. Tap the button in the top right corner of the **Forecast** tab.
2. Choose the place in one of three ways:
   - type a name in **Search location** and tap a result — a place or one of your saved spots;
   - tap the map;
   - tap the arrow button to use your current position.
3. Tap **Use this location**.

## From a saved spot

Open the spot on the map and tap **Forecast**. The arrow in the top left corner of the forecast brings you back to the spot.

## From any point of the map

Touch and hold the point on the map, then tap **Forecast** in the sheet: [Drop a pin on any point](https://help.blacklabr.com/hc/blacklabr/articles/drop-a-pin)

## The first time

If the app may use your location, the first forecast is for where you are. If not, you see "Choose a forecast location" — tap **Choose location** and pick a place.

## Good to know

- **The forecast does not follow you.** "Your location" is the place where you were when it was set. After you travel, choose your current position again.
- The app remembers the chosen place the next time you open it.
- Choosing a place for the forecast saves nothing on the map. To keep a place, [save it as a spot](https://help.blacklabr.com/hc/blacklabr/articles/save-a-spot).
- All times in the forecast are the local time of the chosen place.
- Places close to each other (within about a kilometre) share the same weather.
