This guide shows you how to change the units the app uses for temperature, wind, pressure, tide, waves, length, weight and distance.

## Steps

1. Open the **Profile** tab.
2. Tap the gear button in the top right corner.
3. Tap **Units**.
4. Tap a row and choose the unit.

The change applies at once, everywhere in the app.

## The units you can choose

| Row | Options | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Temperature | Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F) | air and water temperature |
| Wind | Kilometers / Hour, Miles / Hour, Knots, Meters / Second | wind and gusts |
| Pressure | Hectopascal (hPa), Inches (inHg) | air pressure |
| Tide | Meters, Feet | tide height |
| Wave | Meters, Feet | wave height |
| Length | Centimeters, Inches | the length of a catch |
| Weight | Kilograms, Pounds | the weight of a catch |
| Distance | Kilometers, Miles | "… away" distances and the facts about a water |

## Good to know

- **The defaults follow your iPhone's region.** In the United States the app starts with °F, mph, inHg, feet, inches, pounds and miles; elsewhere with metric units.
- Knots and metres per second are never the default — choose them in the **Wind** row.
- Changing a unit changes only how values are shown. Your saved catches are not altered.
- In kilograms, a weight under 1 kg is shown in grams (for example 850 g). Pounds are shown as decimals (5.2 lb); there are no ounces.
- Rain is always shown in millimetres and the wave period in seconds.
- The forecast always uses a 12-hour clock (AM/PM).
- The units are saved on your phone and work offline.
